1 cup fresh/frozen green peas
1 tsp urad dhal
1 tsp chana dhal
1 tsp cumin/jeera seeds
5-6 dry chilly
1 tsp grated coconut
2 garlic pods
5-6 curry leaves
Few coriander springs
2 tsp oil
salt as per taste.
Boil green peas mash and keep aside.
Heat a tsp oil in a pan and fry chana dhal, urad dhal, dry chilly, jeera and peppercorns until aromatic or colour changes, cool and grind alongwith coconut and little water to fine paste.
In the same pan heat oil add mustard, curry leaves, garlic and jeera and fry for a min.
Now add mashed green peas, salt, ground mixture and a glass of water.
Let the rasam boil for 5-10mins.
Garnish with corainder leaves.
Serve hot with rice and a dollop of ghee
